Fishlink News Service ('Fishlink') is a joint fisheries information service of the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations (PCFFA) and the Institute for Fisheries Resources, both leaders in fisheries conservation and restoration. Our major publication is the Fishlink "Sublegals," a weekly electronic news bulletin of timely events and information important to issues primarily about western Pacific US and Canadian commercial fisheries, but with a smattering of international commercial fisheries and ocean fisheries management news as well. We may also publish occasional alerts and other short news briefs of importance to commercial fishermen, fisheries managers and allies, as need arises. Currently we have about 3500 recipients. Fishlink is, first and foremost, an organizing tool. Fishlink is intended to link sport, commercial, environmental, conservation, and other fisheries and ocean protection organizations and agencies into an Internet information network on fisheries management and fish resource protection issues, and to provide them the tools and information they need to be more effective advocates and managers of the world's ocean resources. It is also designed to be a useful media tool for those reporting on these issues, with links in each article to provide further information. Fishlink is NOT a chat group. Postings to the List can ONLY be made by the List Managers. NO COMMERCIAL POSTINGS OF ANY SORT ARE ALLOWED. We know you have many email messages to deal with, and so we also intentionally keep Fishlink Sublegals to a short item format and no more than the equivalent of 6 pages of regular print. Please feel free to pass Fishlink Sublegals and other things you get from Fishlink to your colleagues and to encourage them to subscribe as well. To post a message to all the list members, send email to fishlink@straylight.primelogic.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Fishlink
Subscribe to Fishlink by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
